Matchday Pub Snack Stocking Checklist

Matchdays compress demand into short, busy windows. The winning range is fast to sell, easy to replenish and deep enough in proven lines.

01

Forecast from a comparable event

Use the last similar fixture, expected attendance, opening hours and drinks sales to estimate demand. If no history exists, start from normal sales for the same weekday and add a clear event uplift.

Order early enough to check deliveries and move stock to every serving point before doors get busy. Protect a buffer for the final whistle rather than placing everything on display at once.

02

Prioritise speed and recognisable choices

Crisps, pork snacks and familiar pub classics are easy to understand when queues are long. Keep a smaller number of premium or lighter choices so the range still serves different customers.

Pre-price the display and place stock within reach. Staff should not need to leave the bar or explain every product during the peak.

03

Review the event while details are fresh

Record opening stock, closing stock and any lines that sold out. Note when the rush arrived and whether one bar or screen area behaved differently.

Use those facts to improve the next order. Event notes are more useful than relying on memory several weeks later.

Common questions

Which snacks should have the most stock on matchday?

Use your own sales history first. Crisps, pork snacks and familiar pub classics are usually the fastest choices in a busy queue.

How can I avoid over-ordering?

Forecast from a comparable fixture, keep notes after each event and separate normal weekly demand from the matchday uplift.
